Registering with Bergen New Bridge

Students, faculty, and staff who have previously registered with Bergen New Bridge do not have to re-register for summer 2022 testing. Only those new to the Bergen New Bridge system need to register before scheduling an appointment to be tested. Register now.

You must use your TCNJ email address when registering and in all communications with the company. You must also provide your first name (not your preferred name or nickname), last name, date of birth, and current insurance information.

Bergen New Bridge will bill your personal health insurance plan for the cost of testing. Whatever cost is not paid by your insurance plan will be paid by TCNJ, but the bill must go through your health insurance plan first.

Testing Location

The testing site is located in the Decker Hall Social Space. There are directional signs posted in the Decker Hall area; please enter using the back door. Remember to bring your TCNJ ID card to access the building. You must make an appointment to be tested.

Testing hours beginning May 23:

  • Monday and Thursday: 1–3 p.m.
  • Holiday closures: Monday, May 30, and Monday, July 4

Testing hours August 1521:

  • Monday–Friday: 8 a.m.–4 p.m.

Scheduling and Appointments

Appointments are required for testing and can easily be scheduled online. Arrive no earlier than five minutes before your appointment time. If you cannot keep your appointment, use the reschedule button at the bottom of the appointment confirmation page to change your appointment. Please try to plan ahead and schedule as many of your testing dates as possible.

What should I do if I don’t feel well?

If you are not feeling well, update your status in the Roar app. Schedule an appointment at our on-campus testing site or at an off-campus testing location and do not report for work or class. Begin to isolate yourself. If you test negative but continue to feel unwell, please continue to isolate until your symptoms improve. We suggest you repeat your test at our on-campus testing site if your symptoms persist more than several days.

Students who continue to feel unwell should contact Student Health Services at 609.771.2889 during business hours (Monday–Friday: 8:30 a.m.–4 p.m.) for evaluation or contact a healthcare provider of your choice.

What if I have COVID-like symptoms and want to be tested?

  1. Schedule on-campus testing with Bergen New Bridge.
  2. Locate and visit an off-campus testing location. Students with an exemption who come to campus must be tested for COVID-19 weekly on campus but may choose to take additional tests on or off campus. (Off-campus tests are taken at their own expense.)

How quickly can I get my results, and how do I get them?

Your results will be sent to your TCNJ email address and texted to the mobile number provided at registration within three hours, on average. Results may be delayed on occasion. TCNJ community members who test positive will also receive a phone call to the number provided at registration.

What if I’m required to be tested and prefer to do so off campus?

Individuals with an approved vaccination exemption must be tested weekly on campus through Bergen New Bridge. You may choose to take additional tests on or off campus. (Off-campus tests are taken at your own expense.)

I was tested off campus. What should I do if my result was positive?

Students: Complete the daily self-checkup in the Roar app, isolate, and upload your test results to OWL. Please wait for a COVID Outreach Team representative to contact you with instructions before returning to campus.

Employees: Complete the daily self-checkup in the Roar app, isolate, and email your test results to Human Resources at covid-documentation-group@tcnj.edu.
